Cuenta la historia que Fidias, el escultor de los frisos y estatuas del Partenón, se presentó ante los contadores de Atenas para cobrar las estatuas que ornaban la cumbre del monumento, a decenas de metros del suelo. According the legend, Phidias, the sculptor of the Partenon's statues, finished those on the top, more than 10 mts above the pedestrians and presented to cash his honoariaries.
The accountants of Athens told him that they will only pay 50 % of the work "because from the ground, you can't see the entire statue; so far, the rest of it is useless".
Phidas retorted: "I made those statues for the Gods of this temple, and they can see them in full shape"
The accountants payed the full bill.
