ISPI's Chapter througout the world - Capítulo de ISPI en todo el mundo
News from National
This has been a busy month at headquarters and for our international members.
The HPT Institute was a nominee in the 1997 Education Awards of Excellence program sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives. Our HPT Institute took top honors in the category of Single Seminar Program. Rick Battaglia, our Executive Director, along with Ruth Clark, past ISPI International President, and Lori Gillespie, HPT Institute Dean, will be receiving our award at a ceremony on Monday December 8. Receiving this award makes a compelling and rewarding statement, "This Association of Associations sees the Institute as a model for the type of educational programming that associations should be conducting for their members." Quita and honor for everyone who worked so hard to make the institute a success.
Our 1999 International Conference will be held in Long Beach, Calif. It will be a joint conference with the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations. Rick Battaglia, our Executive Director, just returned from the IFTDO International Conference. As a result, we are involved in serious conversations and some negotiations for cooperative projects with:
The Singapore Society of Training
and Development
The Arabian Society of Training and Development
The Bahrain Society of Training and Development
Team International (Cairo, Egypt)
The Civil Service Training Commission (Taiwan)
The Society for Human Resource Management (Virginia, USA)
The Korean Standards Association
The Open Educational Technology Center (Korea)
WHEW!!! Is this GREAT or What???? Thanks go to Rick, Clayton Lloyd, Margo Murray, Roger Addison, and Don Tosti for their vision and a lot of hard work.
We have founded the first ISPI Performance Improvement Global Network (Virtual Chapter). Mariano Bernardez, of Buenos Aires is the President and founder. This new Chapter will follow the ISPI Chapter Guidelines, being primarily on line with some "live performances" as well. The plans are to have a Web Page up by the end of December.
The Web page will include:
In addition, the chapter will have:
Our thanks and applause to Mariano for his hard work in pulling all this together.
I am excited and pleased to see our international work expanding. Speaking for myself, "This is an extremely gratifying experience". (I suspect that those involved in these activities would say the same.)
Charline Seyfer
President
