William Swart has been appointed Professor of Engineering Management and Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology.
Prior to this appointment he was Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and Dean of New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Newark College of Engineering.
He also held other administrative positions in academia including:1) Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida; 2) Professor and Director of External Programs at the College of Engineering and Design at Florida International University; and, 3) Associate Dean and Professor of Management Science in the School of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge.
His experiences in the private sector include Corporate Vice President of Management Information Systems with Burger King Corporation, Operations Research Consultant with the Engineering Service Division of DuPont, and Computer Applications Engineer with International Paper Company. He has served as principal or co-principal investigator in grants and contracts totaling over $9 million and has published over 80 articles in books, journals, and conference proceedings.
He has substantial multicultural experience and is fluent in four languages.
